Holy Lama Spice Drops
"The Holy Lama Naturals story begins in 1948 when Mr. D V Deo migrated from near Goa to Kerala, in the South of India, to set up agriculture in essential oils. He was the first person in India, to start vetivert cultivation on a commercial basis. Thus becoming the pioneer in the essential oils industry in India. The business then expanded into other essential oils and spice concentrate extraction.
The Holy Lama Naturals brand was established in 2000 by Mr Vijay Deo and Spice Drops is produced under this premium brand.
Our sustainable business model is founded on working closely with local farmers to ensure that our sources of raw, natural herb, spices, and other ingredients are high quality, consistent and reliable. This includes extracting and bottling the essential oils and spice concentrates close to the source. The factory also recycles and re-uses almost all the by-products. For example, the shells from the coconut oil production are converted into fuel. Our production cycle reconciles the seasonality of the raw materials with the need to ensure year round supply to our customers.
We employ mainly disadvantaged women both at the factory and in the community. These women would otherwise struggle to support their families. Our company proactively supports education and health for its employees and their children.
