A delicious traditional Caribbean cake, with a deep flavour from rum-soaked fruits.
Sultanas are soaked in a mixture of the best Jamaican White Rum and wine for six months before being used to make the cake, and they are lightly minced to better absorb the rum and wine.
Rum is poured over the finished cake for a final hit of flavour.
Crafted using only the finest ingredients to create each high-quality cake, all made with love and full of the flavours of the Caribbean.
Rum Cake is often served with a glass of rum, wine, or a cup of tea or coffee.
It also makes a wonderful dessert, either on its own or with cream, ice cream, brandy cream, or custard. Serve at room temperature or slightly warm.
Shelf life: Store in a cool place. Best consumed within two to three days if uncovered but can last a week. Cakes will last one month if stored in a container, kitchen film or placed in a fridge. If you want your cake to last longer than 1 week, then add a bit more rum or wine to the cake.
Can last for 12 months if frozen.
Fruit cake: sultanas, eggs, self-raising flour, sugar, vegetable margarine, butter, rum, browning, ammonia caramel, Glucose syrup, vanilla & almond flavouring, mixed spices including cinnamon & nutmeg. Alcohol: Less than 10% Rum & Red wine.
