Boom Kitchen

Fed up with gloopy chuck-in sauces and bland curry pastes, Carl turned to the countless recipes gathered from his miss-spent youth lounging around in hammocks all over Asia. Written on the back of till receipts, postcards and torn pages from the lonely planet, these recipes were begged, bribed and ‘borrowed’ from many a restaurant owner, chef and local guest house.The eureka moment came when Carl realised once all the prep was done; various spices ground, pastes mixed and coconut grated, that these dishes could be knocked up in minutes. The taste and aromas coming from his frying pan took him back to the streets of Penang, the beaches of Thailand and jungles of Sumatra. Together with friend James, a curry lover with an inventive streak, Boom Kitchen was born to make scratch cooking curries fun, fast and full of flavour.
